CHL game days
The Red Bulls face a traditional opponent from Germany to kick off their season. On Thursday, September 3, the Cologne Sharks will visit Salzburg at 7:15 p.m. The eight-time German champions qualified for the new CHL season as winners of the DEL regular season and return to the European club stage after their only previous appearance in 2014/15.
Just two days later, Salzburg will have another home game. On Saturday, September 5, Bílí Tygři Liberec will visit the Salzburg Ice Arena at 7:15 p.m. The 2016 Czech champions have a wealth of international experience and reached the semifinals of the 2017/18 Champions Hockey League.

Following their home opener, the Red Bulls face a Swedish doubleheader in mid-September. On Friday, September 11, at 7:00 PM, they will first take on the Växjö Lakers. The four-time Swedish champions reached the quarterfinals in the last two CHL seasons and the final in 2017/18. Two days later, on Sunday, September 13, Salzburg will travel to Rögle Ängelholm for a 3:00 PM game. Rögle won the Champions Hockey League in 2022 and is therefore also one of the most prominent opponents of the regular season.
In October, the Red Bulls will play their third home game, again against a top German club. On Wednesday, October 7, at 8:20 PM, the Eisbären Berlin will return to Salzburg. The reigning German champions, with twelve all-German championships, are among the most successful clubs in Germany, have been regular participants in the Champions Hockey League recently, and already faced the Red Bulls last season.
In October, the Red Bulls will play their third home game, once again against a top German club. Salzburg will conclude their regular season on Tuesday, October 13, with an away game against Skellefteå AIK. Face-off against the 2026 Swedish champions is at 7:00 PM. Skellefteå reached the finals in the 2023/24 CHL season and also brings considerable international experience.
This means the Red Bulls have six high-profile matchups against teams from Germany, the Czech Republic, and Sweden on their regular season schedule.

Format | Regular Season and Playoffs
The regular season consists of 24 teams. Each team plays every other team once. Therefore, in the CHL regular season, each team plays six games: three at home and three away, against six different opponents. Teams from the same league do not play each other during the regular season.
The results of the regular season (3-point system) determine a ranking across all 24 teams. The top 16 teams qualify for the playoff round of 16, with the first-place team playing the 16th, the second the 15th, and so on. This determines the playoff bracket leading up to the final. Playoff series consists of two games, with aggregate score determining the winner in case of a tie. Only the final is a single, decisive game.

Quarterfinals: December 1/2 & 15
