Wings for Life World Run
Under brilliant sunshine, Salzburg's Volksgarten once again attracted runners in droves. With 2,000 registered participants, the Red Bulls-organized App Run was the largest organized App Run in Austria, setting a new participation record.
Even more important is the amount of donations generated by the "Red Bulls & Friends" running team. €68,511.08 will be transferred to Wings for Life and will go entirely towards spinal cord research.
A heartfelt thank you to all runners in the Volksgarten and to all members of the "Red Bulls & Friends" running team worldwide for their commitment and donations to Wings for Life!

Impressions of the App Run in the Volksgarten
Running with the Stars
Besides racing wheelchair racer Thomas Geierspichler and motocross rider Matthias Walkner, who regularly participate in the running event in the Volksgarten, several professional ice hockey players were also at the starting line this year. Leading the way was Thomas Raffl, captain of the "Red Bulls & Friends" running team, who covered 20km. Lukas Hörl ran the furthest with 24.2km, but Niki Kraus (21.2km), Florian Baltram (18.2km), and Maximilian Wurzer (18.3km) also gave it their all. Mario Huber (10.7km) ran with his family, and Peter Hochkofler pushed his friend Corin Konradsheim in his wheelchair for an entire lap.
The top finisher in the Volksgarten App Run was Alexander Noppinger with 43.55km. Among the women, Birgit Altmanninger covered the longest distance with 37.34km.

"It's a truly amazing experience to be able to take to the course with so many other runners and to run for those who can't. It's not a race, but simply a running experience where everyone can have fun and push their limits. I'm usually on ice skates, but today was incredible for me, being in the Volksgarten for the first time. And I'm delighted that so many people are supporting Wings for Life."
Most importantly: 100% of all entry fees and donations go to Wings for Life to support spinal cord research projects worldwide.
