Schneider and Huber are staying in Salzburg
Peter Schneider as a Cornerstone of Salzburg's Attack
Peter Schneider has been playing for EC Red Bull Salzburg for five years. The 35-year-old forward has been a key figure in Salzburg's style of play, paving the way for many of the Red Bulls' successes. Last season, he once again showcased his powerful playing style, but had to work harder for his goals due to the increasingly strong competition in the win2day ICE Hockey League; in 47 games, including playoffs, he tallied 10 goals and 18 assists. This didn't stop the four-time league champion from always fighting until the final buzzer and leading by example with his highly professional attitude.
Schneider remains one of Austria's best forwards and will be a key player for the Red Bulls again next season. The father of two – his second child was born just this spring, shortly before the start of the playoffs – also intends to prove himself on the Austrian national team and help continue Austria's upward trend of recent years, to which he has also made a significant contribution, at the World Championship in Switzerland in May.
Mario Huber completes ten seasons
When Mario Huber joins the Red Bulls in Salzburg this fall, it will mark his tenth season with the team. The Innsbruck native has played a significant role in the Red Bulls' history during this time and boasts four titles in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Although he was only able to return to action in October after facial surgery – he had been hit in the face with a puck during practice – Huber scored 14 goals in 42 regular-season games last season, matching his tally from 47 games the previous season.
The 29-year-old father of two has also served as assistant captain for the team for the past five years and is considered a motivator and unifying force in the locker room. His qualities as a forward and team player are also valued by the Austrian national team. Huber aims to secure another spot on the roster for the World Championship in Switzerland this year and help the red-white-red team achieve further success.

Maximilian Kirchebner and Maximilian Wurzer are leaving the club.
The partnership with two long-time Red Bull Hockey Juniors players, who also saw action with the Salzburg professional team, will not be continued. 20-year-old defenseman Maximilian Kirchebner joined the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in 2020 and has played a total of 20 games in the win2day ICE Hockey League with the Red Bulls over the past two seasons.
Maximilian Wurzer made the move from Zell am See to the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in 2018 and has earned his place with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. In 146 games in the Alps Hockey League, he scored 37 goals and added 38 assists. In 25 win2day ICE Hockey League appearances, the now 22-year-old recorded one goal and one assist. Like Maximilian Kirchebner, Wurzer won the Austrian AHL championship with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in 2024.
The Red Bulls would like to thank all players for their commitment and performances last season and wish them all the best and much success for the future.
