Cole Krygier has quickly found his place"I'm used to playing on offensive, hard-forechecking teams"// Player interviewHe was the Red Bulls' latest signing: Cole Krygier arrived in Salzburg at the beginning of February and has played four games so far. The larger ice surface in Europe isn't causing any problems after a short adjustment period, as he told in an interview.

Four games, one goal, and a +3 plus/minus rating – a promising start, though the defenseman makes it clear that scoring goals is fun, of course, but he was primarily brought in to prevent them. After five weeks, the 25-year-old American has settled in well with the Red Bulls and, as he explains in the interview, he and his wife are also very happy in Salzburg on a personal level.

"The language is obviously new to me at first. But everyone in the locker room speaks English anyway, so it's not a big problem. We have some older players who show you the ropes. And things are great with the younger players too; there's a good exchange, whether they're imports or Austrians." He adds with a grin: "I'm somewhere in the middle, but I consider myself one of the younger players."

The first pictures with Cole Krygier
Cole Krygier is a 6'4" (1.93 m) tall defensive back. Drafted by the Florida Panthers in 2018, the American played five years in the NCAA at Michigan State University (160 games) and led the team as assistant captain last season, 2022/23. After that, Krygier spent two AHL seasons with the Ontario Reign (82 games) and, prior to his stint with Salzburg, played in the ECHL for the Savannah Ghost Pirates (24 games, 4 goals, 4 assists). Salzburg is his first stint in Europe.
