Match report Sisak started with several big chances and put Juniors goalkeeper Luca Haitzmann under pressure right from the start. In the second minute, Marijus Dumcius missed an open goal from close range. The Red Bulls survived their first shorthanded situation with consistent defensive work and gained momentum from it. Back to five-on-five, however, the action shifted back to the Salzburg zone, while the Red Bulls remained dangerous with quick counterattacks. As time went on, the Juniors found their way into the game better and tested goalie Vilim Rosandic several times. Another power play put the visitors under pressure again: in the 14th minute, Danila Larionovs deflected a shot from Petar Peceric to make it 1-0. Despite increased offensive pressure, the score remained 0-1 after 20 minutes.
Just 30 seconds into the second period (21st minute), Niko Cavlovic scored from the blue line to make it 2-0. Salzburg immediately sought to pull one back, but couldn't find a way through the compact defense. In the 25th minute, Kim Yeob made it 3-0 on the power play after a rebound. Further penalties on the Salzburg side shifted the momentum definitively to the Croatians, with Haitzmann making several strong saves. In two subsequent power play situations, the Juniors lacked efficiency. Sisak remained defensively stable and closed down the space. In the 38th minute, Danila Larionovs served the unmarked Patrik Dobric after a quick counterattack, who scored from close range to make it 4-0.
An early power play gave the Red Bulls the chance to reduce the deficit at the start of the final period, but Rosandic remained flawless. Salzburg subsequently had more of the attacking play than before, but clear scoring chances remained rare against the home side's disciplined defense. The game became increasingly heated. In the 54th minute, Adrian Gesson hit the crossbar. Further penalties for Salzburg prevented a final offensive. The score remained 0-4.

Head Coach Teemu Levijoki
“They played well and were always one step ahead of us. We were one or two steps too slow in the offensive and defensive zones today, and they took advantage of that. They played at full throttle for the first 30 minutes, we didn't win the battles, and when you don't win those, it's hard to win a game.”
