Interview with Peter Hochkofler
He's a veteran, one of the Red Bulls' longest-serving players, and embodies team spirit like no other. Since the age of 15, he's been with the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, then with the Salzburg professional team, with whom he has won the ICE Hockey League championship five times. This season, the 31-year-old was sidelined for a long time by two consecutive long-term injuries, but he worked his way back and played his first league game on December 28th. For the team player Hochkofler, being able to finally be back on the ice with the team was almost like a belated Christmas present. We asked him about it in an interview:
Interview Peter Hochkofler
Loved by his teammates, feared by his opponents, the forward always goes where it hurts. He spares neither himself nor his opponents and paves the way for his teammates. This is the role Hochkofler enjoys playing. From the interview: "It's simply part of the job to finish the checks. Also, the hard work through the physical game, giving the others the feeling: Hey, I'm here, I'm giving everything for you. You get that back in return. And that's how it has to be in a team, that everyone trusts each other and knows they're doing their job for the team."

Hochkofler has been part of Salzburg's professional squad since the 2015/16 season. The recently ended injury period was the longest the forward has ever endured. In the two seasons prior – 2023–2025 – he didn't miss a single game and scored 23 goals and 20 assists in 128 games (including playoffs). Hochkofler has also scored in each of his last seven games, finding the net in Innsbruck in his second game since returning to the team.
