Highlights Red Bulls vs. HC Falkensteiner Pustertal | 26.10.25
Current Situation
An away defeat at the end of September and a home defeat at the end of October – that's the Red Bulls' season record so far against HC Pustertal. The South Tyrolean team started their fifth league season with high ambitions and quickly established themselves in the top half of the table. However, in the last four rounds – Pustertal had a bye yesterday – they suffered just as many painful defeats. The most recent was a 2-3 loss last Monday in Klagenfurt. This has dropped the South Tyroleans to sixth place in the standings, and they are fighting to maintain this position – their lead over second-place Székesfehérvár is six points – as it guarantees a direct playoff berth.
The Red Bulls, on the other hand, have found their rhythm and, with 12 games remaining in the regular season – 36 of 48 games have been played – are currently in third place. The gap to second-placed Graz99ers is now only three points (with one more game played). With yesterday's 5-1 home win against Ljubljana, Salzburg not only extended their current winning streak to 12 games but also delivered another impressive performance. They now need to replicate that form in Bruneck, where the Red Bulls have yet to secure a victory this season.
Offensively neck and neck
Having boasted the league's best defense for some time, the Red Bulls have also made significant progress offensively in recent games. With 120 goals scored (tied with Bolzano), they are now the third-highest scoring team in the league. HC Pustertal also knows where the net is, having scored 118 goals (with two fewer games played), just two games behind.
Statement Manny Viveiros
Statement by Manny Viveiros
"Our current winning streak is great, but we're not focused on records, we're always on the next individual game. And with Pustertal, we're expecting another very strong team with a good offense. We need to play solid defense again and not let them stay in our zone for too long, then we'll have another good chance of winning."
