Game report Three rookies made their Alps Hockey League debut for the Red Bull Hockey Juniors: Leon Bader, Nikita Bloch, and Paul Schuster. At the same time, captain Adrian Gesson, Mathias Böhm, and Alexander Rebernig were in the ICE squad of EC Red Bull Salzburg. Right from the opening face-off, the Juniors put Sterzing goalie Dominik Groh under pressure and earned themselves an early power play. In the 10th minute of the game, the team was rewarded: Maximilian Wurzer converted a pass from Vadim Schreiner and Nico Koschek to make it 1-0. The Red Bulls kept up the pressure: Nick Maul hit the post (14th minute), Leon Bader failed from a sharp angle (15th minute), and Jesse Juhola with a backhand (16th minute). It wasn't until the 12th minute that the visitors recorded their first shot on goal against Valentin Ankirchner. Towards the end of the first period, the South Tyroleans created chances with quick counterattacks, but the score remained 23-5 at the break.

Captain Nick Maul
“It was a tough game. We had a lot of chances, but it only ended 2-1. Sterzing played really well, was very physical, and took away our space in front of the goal. We played with a very young team today, but the whole team really tried hard. I was very happy that we were able to score the second goal of the evening.”
