Red Bulls show great respect for Bremerhaven The Germans have beaten the CHL champions// CHL Regular SeasonEC Red Bull Salzburg will face the Pinguins Bremerhaven in the Champions Hockey League tomorrow, Sunday, in their second regular-season game at the Salzburg Ice Arena (5:30 p.m., ORF Sport+).The club from northern Germany wrested an overtime victory from the reigning champions, the ZSC Lions, in Zurich yesterday in the opening game of the Champions League. The Red Bulls also got off to a strong start in the CHL with a home win against GKS Tychy.

Starting Position
In the second CHL game of the new season, two first-round winners, Salzburg and Bremerhaven, will face off. Both teams can enter the match with confidence. While the Red Bulls clearly dominated Polish champions GKS Tychy for two periods yesterday and could have put the game on the scoreboard earlier with better utilization of their chances – the decisive goal for a 2-1 lead came in the final minute – the Fischtown Pinguins equalized a 1-2 deficit in Zurich in the final period and earned the extra point in overtime against the reigning CHL and Swiss champions (!).
Bremerhaven with Diversity in the Team
The Pinguins' roster is made up of players from eight nations. Seven players have been naturalized and thus hold dual German citizenship. Last season's third-place finisher in the DEL regular season draws on the experience of three Slovenian veterans who already excelled in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Jan Urbas, Ziga Jeglic, and Miha Verlic are between 34 and 37 years old and are among the top scorers in Bremerhaven.
A characteristic that also applies to Salzburg. The top line with T. Raffl-Nissner-Schneider brings a lot of experience to the table and scored all three goals yesterday. The young academy players Mathias Böhm, Florian Lanzinger, and Maximilian Wurzer also made a good impression, playing courageously and filling in for several injured players; Ali Wukovits, Vadim Schreiner, Peter Hochkofler, Troy Bourke, and Mario Huber will be out of the team for some time.

Manny Viveiro's Statement
"We played very well against Tychy, but we lost our forward momentum in the second period, giving our opponents opportunities for turnovers. We can't afford that against Bremerhaven. We're definitely prepared to be challenged more on defense. But we want to get the next win at home."
