Ali Wukovits out for a long time// Team updateEC Red Bull Salzburg will be without striker Ali Wukovits for an extended period of time. The 29-year-old native of Vienna had to undergo hip surgery following persistent complaints.Ali Wukovits has been struggling with increasing problems in his lower body over the last few years, which have now made surgery necessary. The hip operation was carried out last Thursday and the striker is doing well under the circumstances. Treatment will begin in the next few days, but Wukovits will not be available to the team for several months.
Wukovits came to Salzburg from the Vienna Capitals in 2021 and has been champion of the win2day ICE Hockey League four times with the Red Bulls in the last four years. During this period, he scored 25 goals and 63 assists in 190 league games. Last season, he was only able to play 20 games in the basic round due to a lower-body injury, but was back in action for all games in the playoffs.
