Adam Maglio becomes new assistant coach of the Red Bulls Salzburg coaching team is now complete// Team updateEC Red Bull Salzburg has brought a new coach to Salzburg in the form of Canadian Adam Maglio. The 38-year-old is taking up his first job in Europe and completes the coaching team led by Head Coach Manny Viveiros. Adam Maglio has been working as a youth coach for eleven years and has spent the last three years in the WHL as associate coach of the Vancouver Giants. In the last two seasons, he was on the coaching bench together with Head Coach Manny Viveiros, the new Head Coach of the Red Bulls. In the 2019/20 season, the two also worked together in the same role in the WHL with the Spokane Chiefs.
Maglio then spent two more seasons in Spokane as Head Coach of the Junior Team. A role that he had already performed for several seasons with the Prince George Spruce Kings in the BCHL. In Salzburg, Maglio will be coaching a professional team for the first time. It is also his first engagement with a European ice hockey club.

Red Bulls coaching team now complete
Adam Maglio completes the Salzburg coaching team with new Head Coach Manny Viveiros and existing coaches Daniel Petersson and Markus Kerschbaumer.
After many years as a junior coach at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, Petersson made the step up to the Salzburg professional team in 2021 and has since been involved in all of the Red Bulls' successes as an assistant coach. The 43-year-old Swede is mainly responsible for the defensemen on the bench and is also particularly involved in the development of the younger players from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy during training. In the coming season, he will be in his sixth season as coach of the current defending champions.
Kerschbaumer can build on 20 years of experience as a goalkeeping coach and has been responsible for Salzburg's goalkeepers for six years. The 50-year-old native of Villach also worked for the Austrian national team in earlier years and has perfectly prepared the Salzburg Red Bulls goalkeepers for their tasks in recent years. In addition to his work in the Salzburg professional team, Kerschbaumer is also responsible for the training and further education of goalkeeper coaches at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, where he passes on his extensive knowledge to the next generation of coaches.
