The game began with a high tempo and a lot of physicality. Both teams had their first chances early on, but the goalkeepers kept their boxes clean. With a compact defense, the Juniors defused the attacks of the home team and created good opportunities through quick transition play. Sisak exerted considerable pressure in the final minutes of the first period, but Luca Kogler set up a counter-attack with a clever pass to Adrian Gesson, which the 18-year-old from Vorarlberg converted for a 1:0 lead in the 20th minute.
Buoyed by their lead, the Red Bulls started the second period strongly, but were unable to add to it. Sisak now gained momentum and forced the Juniors to make mistakes. In the 25th minute, Niko Mikkola took advantage of this situation and equalized the score at 1:1. Salzburg responded promptly and upped the tempo. After surviving a short-handed situation, the game was played at eye level. In the 39th minute, Paul Vinzens restored the lead to 2:1 after a pass from Maximilian Wurzer.
Due to a late penalty in the second period, the Red Bulls started the final period with the advantage. Back at full strength, the game initially remained even. The Juniors kept the third man in defense and waited for their chances. In the 44th minute, Paul Vinzens managed to increase the lead to 3:1 with his second goal. Sisak now became more undisciplined and the Juniors were given another overtime opportunity, but were unable to capitalize on it. In the 52nd minute, 17-year-old Paul Oberhauser increased the lead to 4:1 after preparatory work by Maximilian Mackner. The hosts tried everything to turn the game around, but goalkeeper Valentin Ankirchner made a superb save to secure the away win.
