New "teachers" for the schoolsLukas Schreier and Ali Wukovits make their debut with "Fans of the Future"// Fans of the FutureIt is always exciting - both for the pupils and the players - when the Red Bulls visit schools in the Salzburg region as part of the "Fans of the Future" project and report on their everyday lives. This time, the school project took us to SMS Hof near the beautiful Lake Fuschl. "Seven o'clock departure? That's very early, isn't it?" But by the time school started at 7:30 a.m. in Hof, Ali and Lukas' tiredness had evaporated. 20 girls and boys from class 4b were eager to hear what the two ice hockey professionals had to say and were immediately in their element.
The digital board, which works like a giant tablet once you get the hang of it, was particularly exciting from a technical point of view. You don't get chalk fingers anymore, even if the memories of the older semesters are very present. Ali: "I never liked the squeaking of the chalk on the blackboard, it still gives me goosebumps today."

A look at the ice hockey lesson
When it came to ice hockey, the two of them left no stone unturned. Some of the 13 to 14-year-old pupils were almost dizzy with so many rules and terms describing the sport. Penalty killing, offside, power play, icing, forecheck... it's understandable that Ali and Lukas mix German and English expressions when they have to deal with an English-speaking coaching team and American and Canadian teammates on a daily basis.
In any case, the two have impressively conveyed their unbroken fascination for ice hockey and so Class 4b and their sports-loving class teacher Wolfgang Knapp are already looking forward to the Red Bulls' home game against the Pioneers Vorarlberg on February 18. And the two professionals want to put their words into action...
