How can I apply for a place in the Academy?
Applications are accepted exclusively via our online application form.
At what age is it advisable to apply for ice hockey?
The earliest possible entry is into the upcoming U15 team season.
Example: Year of birth 2012 → Apply from September 2025 for the 2026/27 season.
Are there deadlines for applications or try-outs?
There is no fixed deadline. However, we recommend applying as early as possible for the desired season (see previous question).
How are players selected for an Academy place?
Selection is based either on our internal scouting or through the public application process.
What happens after I submit my application?
The documents will be reviewed by the sports department. If the player is deemed suitable, they will be invited to a try-out.
What should I do if I have not received any feedback after submitting my application online?
The evaluation process can take some time. Please ensure that your application was submitted for the correct season and that a transfer is currently a priority (see question “At what age…”).
What language skills are required?
Fluent German and/or English – both for athletic and academic training.
What grade average is required for admission?
Athletic qualification is the primary criterion. However, a positive final school report before the transfer is required.
What school programs are offered?
For German-speaking applicants: cooperation with the SSM/Nachwuchsleistungssport-Modell Salzburg and our partner schools, Christian-Doppler-Gymnasium & Sport-HAS Salzburg.
For international applicants: e-learning programs.
What does a typical day for an Academy player look like?
The daily schedule is tailored individually to the needs of sport and school. It varies depending on the team, season phase, and school timetable.
What are the costs for an Academy place?
Costs depend on various factors and will be discussed in the personal information meeting during the try-out.
What happens during a try-out?
The try-out begins with a tour of the Academy. It includes several on-ice sessions, off-ice training, a physiotherapy screening, a school meeting, and a discussion with the sports management.
