Maxim Eliseev put the Juniors ahead in the first period. After a scoreless second period, Jesse Juhola made it 2-0 in the final period, with Bryson Cianfrone pulling one back for Sterzing. In the closing minutes, the Broncos pulled their goalie for a sixth field player, and Luca Auer made it 3-1 in the final seconds of the game.

Game summary
Sterzing launched the first offensive attacks at the start, with Mika Haim saving a solo effort from James Livingston (5th minute). The Juniors then had chances from acute angles through Paul Schuster (7th minute) and Moritz Warnecke (8th minute), but Dominik Groh kept a clean sheet for the time being. The Red Bulls put the Broncos under pressure, forcing them into several icings, before they took advantage of an offensive face-off in the 13th minute: Jesse Juhola won the face-off, Warnecke brought the puck from the blue line to the goal, and Eliseev converted the rebound to make it 1-0. Despite further chances, a subsequent power play remained without further goals, and the team went into the break with a narrow lead.
The pace picked up in the second period and the game spread across the entire ice, with chances on both sides testing the goalies. The Juniors had further power play opportunities, but after a counter penalty, they had to play 4-on-4 for a short time and were shorthanded for the first time, but the penalty kill held up. In a 2-on-1 situation, Warnecke came close to making it 2-0 (35th minute). Shortly afterwards, Nick Maul had a shorthanded breakaway (38th minute), but failed to beat Groh, and the period remained scoreless.
With a residual power play, the Juniors started the final period actively and shortly thereafter gained another power play, but Sterzing defended compactly. The Broncos became more dangerous in the meantime, before the Red Bulls added another goal in the 50th minute after a quick counterattack: Eliseev and Juhola crossed in the offensive zone, and Juhola scored from a sharp angle to make it 2-0. Sterzing increased the pressure and came back after surviving a power play by the Juniors, with Cianfrone converting Franco Sproviero's pass in the 56th minute to make it 1-2. In the final minutes, the home team pulled their goalie, Luca Auer took the clearance shot and scored into the empty net in the last second of the game (60th) to make it 3-1.
