Game Summary
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors got off to a strong start and tested Sisak goaltender Vilim Rosandic early on. The home team also made their presence felt on offense, but Mika Haim kept a clean sheet. An open and increasingly physical back-and-forth ensued, featuring frequent changes in momentum and intense one-on-one battles. In the 16th minute, Paul Oberhauser passed to Luca Fischer from behind the net, and Fischer put the Juniors ahead 1–0. Sisak responded with several shots on goal, and the Red Bulls were forced to defend while shorthanded shortly thereafter, but they held on to their narrow lead and went into the first intermission unscathed.
In the second period, Sisak pushed for the equalizer right from the start. Lovro Kumanovic found space in the high slot and scored to make it 1-1 (22nd minute). Shortly afterward, Fran Zavrski was stopped by Haim on a breakaway (23rd minute). The home team increased the pressure, but the Juniors held their ground and looked to break forward quickly of their own accord. Matteo Schroth capitalized on a pass from Luca Fischer and Florian Lanzinger to seize the next opportunity and restore the lead (25th minute). Both teams then had good chances before Niksa Juric tied the game at 2–2 (30th minute). The Red Bulls’ response was immediate: Luca Fischer scored off assists from Paul Oberhauser and Tobias Koller to make it 3–2, completing his two-goal performance (32nd minute). A subsequent power play by the Juniors failed to yield another goal.
The fast pace continued in the final period. Niksa Juric tied the game at 3–3 (44th minute). The Red Bulls then had to weather a prolonged shorthanded stretch and, at times, defend with only three skaters on the ice. Shortly after the double-man disadvantage ended, Anthony Tabak gave Sisak its first lead, 3–4, on the power play (49th minute), before Toivo Laaksonen capitalized on the remaining power play to make it 3–5 (51st minute). The Juniors, however, refused to give up. Paul Oberhauser deflected a shot by Moussa Hackert to make it 4–5 (55th minute). With just under two minutes left in the game, the Red Bulls pulled their goaltender for an extra skater, and Benedikt Krainer scored off a pass from Lukas Greil to tie the game at 5–5 (59th minute). The Salzburg team kept pressing and were rewarded: Noel Lußnig remained ice-cold on a breakaway and, twelve seconds before the final buzzer (60th minute), scored the much-celebrated goal for a 6–5 road victory.

Statement by Head Coach Antti Aarnio:
“That was probably our best start to a game today since I took over the team. Right from the start, the guys put into practice exactly what we’ve been working on lately. We were ready, played with a lot of pace, worked hard, and went after the battles. Of course, there were a few unnecessary penalties again, and Sisak took advantage of them, but the team never stopped believing in our game plan. Even when we were down 3–5, we didn’t change a thing—we just kept playing our way. That’s exactly what we want to see: defending hard, blocking shots, and then playing forward with speed. It feels really good, of course, to have turned this game around in the end. The team earned this victory today.”
