Juniors gewinnen Heimspiel gegen KHL Sisak mit 4:3
After taking a 2-0 lead in the first period, the visitors pulled within two goals twice in the second period, but Lucas Hartl made it 4-2 in the third. Sisak cut the lead again in the closing minutes with a sixth skater on the ice, but the Juniors held on to their narrow lead until the final buzzer.
Game Summary
The Juniors got off to a better start and took a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute on a goal by Antons Macijevskis. Salzburg then had to defend while shorthanded for the first time but managed to keep Sisak from tying the game. Shortly afterward, the Red Bulls earned their third power play of the first period and capitalized on it: Luca Fischer scored off assists from Alexander Rebernig and Noel Lußnig to make it 2–0 (16th minute). The teams headed into the first intermission with the Red Bulls holding a two-goal lead.
At the start of the second period, the Juniors were awarded another power play, but shortly afterward found themselves playing shorthanded. Nejc Brus capitalized on the visitors’ power play to cut the lead to 2–1 (24th minute). The Red Bulls regained their footing and extended their lead to 3–1 (32nd minute) on a goal by Niklas Korhonen off a pass from Tobias Koller. Shortly afterward, Sisak scored again on the power play to close the gap, with Anthony Tabak making it 3–2 (34th minute). Despite power-play opportunities on both sides, no further goals were scored before the second intermission.
In the final period, the Juniors ramped up the pressure once again and extended their lead to 4–2 thanks to Lucas Hartl (48th minute). Sisak remained a threat and repeatedly tested Luca Haitzmann, who kept his team in the game with strong saves. With three minutes remaining, the visitors pulled their goalie for a sixth skater, and Anthony Tabak cut the lead to 4–3 in the 59th minute. Sisak then continued to play with the extra skater, but the Juniors defended their one-goal lead until the final buzzer, celebrating their first victory of the 2026–27 Alps Hockey League season.

“It feels good to have earned our first points. As a team, we’ve been gelling better and better, and we needed those games to really get into our stride. We played well today and gained some confidence as a result. But now our focus is already on the next three games next week.”
