Anticipation builds ahead of clash with Rögle BKFirst session in the Swedish runners-up's practice rink// CHL EC Red Bull Salzburg flew to Ängelholm today for Friday's Champions Hockey League away game against Rögle BK (7:00 PM, Sporteurope.tv). Their first practice session took place in the secondary rink at the Catena Arena complex.

There is always a special atmosphere when stepping into an opponent's arena for the first time in the Champions Hockey League. That was certainly the case in Ängelholm, even though the Red Bulls held their opening practice in one of the two practice rinks attached to the main Catena Arena complex.

The anticipation was palpable; every drill was executed with high intensity to shake off the travel fatigue and ensure the best possible preparation for the match against Rögle BK.

"We arrived safely and had a good practice session, even though it’s not exactly easy to hit the ice right after a flight. We’ll be studying our opponents closely today and tomorrow, and then we’ll be ready to go. I can definitely feel that pre-game buzz already—just like before any match. It’s going to be a really tough game, but if we play at our best, we can beat anyone."

The Red Bulls' roster also includes young Swede Isak Norlin, who joined the Red Bull Hockey Juniors squad just this summer. The 20-year-old defenseman came up through the Rögle BK youth system and played 18 games in the SHL—Sweden’s top professional league—with the club last season. So, on Friday, the defenseman will find himself back on the bench at the Catena Arena, though this time as part of the visiting team.
