Almost 1,500 runners at the Wings for Life World Run in Salzburg's Volksgarten Running team Red Bulls & Friends raises EUR 105,000 for spinal cord research// Wings for Life World RunThe Wings for Life World Run app run organized by EC Red Bull Salzburg in Salzburg's Volksgarten has set a new record for participants and once again raised a large sum for the Spinal Cord Research Foundation. The App Run in Salzburg's Volksgarten directly in front of the Eisarena Salzburg, the home of EC Red Bull Salzburg, has been growing in popularity for four years now. This year, for the first time, 1,480 participants took to the course along the Salzach river and their donations ensured that the Red Bulls were able to transfer more than EUR 105,000 to Wings for Life, the foundation for spinal cord research, the third-highest donation sum of all running teams.
A big thank you to all runners in the Volksgarten and to all members of the “Red Bulls & Friends” running team worldwide for their support of Wings for Life!

Impressions from the Volksgarten
Side by side with the stars
In the Volksgarten, some of the greats of sport have once again put themselves at the service of a good cause. In addition to Dominik Landertinger (biathlon world champion 2009 and other medals at the Winter Olympics and World Championships) and Thomas Geierspichler (Austrian wheelchair racer, multiple world champion and Olympic champion), the current champions of the win2day ICE Hockey League, the Red Bulls Mario Huber, Peter Hochkofler, Luca Auer and Lukas Hörl - the two youngsters covered an impressive 25km! - to make their contribution to spinal cord research.

"There is always a goosebump feeling at the start of the Wings for Life World Run. It's unbelievable how many people are back in Salzburg's Volksgarten today to run for those who can't. And when you see that the whole thing is happening at the same time all over the world, you realize that this run is something very special, and of course we are very happy to take part."
The common global idea is also reflected in the “Red Bulls & Friends” running team in the origin of the participants. In addition to Austrians and Germans - colleagues from EHC Red Bull Munich are also part of this team - participants from England, Switzerland, the USA, Canada, Singapore, Brazil, India, South Africa, Turkey, South Korea, Kenya and Japan have also signed up.
