HC Falkensteiner Pustertal vs. Red Bulls
After yesterday's narrow defeat in the opening game of the quarterfinal series at home, Salzburg is now pushing for their first win in Bruneck, but they will have to find a way to overcome the compact South Tyrolean team.

It was primarily the penalties that led to yesterday's 2-3 overtime loss. Coach and players agreed on this point. And indeed, the Red Bulls were the better team in the first period, displaying high skating and a strong physical game. It wasn't until the second period that the penalties began to pile up, dragging the game into overtime, even though the decisive goal against them came from a counterattack when the teams were evenly matched.
In the second quarterfinal matchup in Bruneck, another closely contested game is expected. Pustertal also relies on a solid defense and experienced forwards who can strike at the right moment. The Red Bulls possess these qualities as well; they just need to find a way to stay out of the penalty box and not be thrown off course in Bruneck's Intercable Arena.

"We expected much more from ourselves yesterday. We thought we could maintain consistent pressure and get many more shots on goal. But it was still a close, evenly matched game. In Bruneck, we want to start like we did in the first game, but we still have plenty of room for improvement. In any case, we are well prepared and I'm feeling optimistic."
