On March 10th at 7:15 PM, the Red Bulls begin their title defense at the Salzburg Ice Arena. The four-time consecutive champions have a historic opportunity to extend their winning streak to five games for the first time in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Red Bulls held a press conference today to discuss their goals and expectations.

Statement by Mario Huber

"We're already very excited, but it's more the anticipation of the first game. We've trained well, reviewed a lot of things, and grown even closer as a team. We have a really great group of players, and I hope it will be a great series against Pustertal. I hope the ice arena will be as energetic as it has been in recent years, that we'll get the fan support, that we'll play good hockey, and that we'll get the ball rolling together."

Statement from Head Coach Manny Viveiros

"We are ready and looking forward to the opportunity to play against a good team. The little things will make the difference. Pustertal is very good on the ice, has a lot of quality on the roster, and a strong goalie. But we had a good week of training, recharged our batteries, and the guys are ready for the first game."

Quarterfinal Challenge

The Red Bulls face HC Falkensteiner Pustertal, a team they only managed one win against in the regular season. In their last meeting on February 22nd, the Red Bulls secured a 2-1 overtime victory at home, making a timely statement. HC Pustertal, who have played in the ICE Hockey League for five seasons, have improved year after year and have become a tough playoff opponent. Their last two regular-season games also demonstrate their strong playoff form; a 3-2 overtime home win against Ljubljana was followed by a 1-0 victory in Villach.

Roster Update

Captain Thomas Raffl is doubtful for the start of the playoffs (ill). Brandon Coe (ill) and Lukas Hörl (upper body injury) are definitely out.
