With three rounds remaining before the playoffs, the Red Bulls are currently in third place and need every point to defend their position against the chasing Bolzano team. The task won't be easy: Salzburg has yet to beat Pustertal this season.

Current Situation
The situation has become even more critical. With three rounds remaining in the regular season, the Red Bulls are determined to collect as many points as possible. After yesterday's victory against VSV, which one could say wasted, Salzburg still has a theoretical chance of finishing second, which would mean qualifying for the CHL. However, they now need to be careful not to be overtaken for third place. HCB Südtirol Alperia is lurking right behind them, just two points behind with one game in hand.
Minimizing Mistakes
The Red Bulls got off to a good start against Villach yesterday after the long league break and looked like the winners for much of the game. They played with high pressure, good combinations, and a multitude of scoring opportunities. However, unnecessary unforced errors allowed the visitors back into the game. Villach capitalized on their chances and ultimately had luck on their side in the penalty shootout. Against Pustertal – seven players (!) were recently on the roster in Milan – a 100% performance in all aspects of the game is essential, especially since the Red Bulls have yet to defeat the team from Bruneck this season.
Offensive Visitors
In their fourth attempt, Salzburg aims to secure their first victory of the season against Head Coach Jason Jaspers' team, which boasts a similarly potent offense with 149 goals scored, as do Salzburg's 151. Just yesterday, they secured a 4-2 home win against Székesfehérvár. However, in recent rounds, the South Tyrolean team has experienced a fluctuating record of wins and losses. This is a fact the Red Bulls should capitalize on in front of their home crowd.

"We need better puck management, we need to make better decisions. We don't have any major problems that we need to fix. It's just a few small things, and the players know exactly what to do. We're ready for Sunday."
