New player for the Red Bulls
Cole Krygier is a 1.93 m tall defenseman. Drafted by the Florida Panthers in 2018, the American played five years in the NCAA at Michigan State University (160 games) and led the team as assistant captain in the 2022-23 season. Krygier then spent two AHL seasons with the Ontario Reign (82 games) and most recently played for the Savannah Ghost Pirates in the ECHL (24 games, 4 goals, 4 assists).

For Krygier, joining the Red Bulls marks his debut in a European league. He has a connection to the Red Bulls through Nash Nienhuis, with whom he played for several years at Michigan State University.

“Nash [Nienhuis] told me a lot about the Red Bulls organization and their successes over the past few years this summer. It’s something I’d like to be a part of and help continue the success story. I’m a big two-way defenseman who works hard on the back and can push the offense. My greatest strength is skating, and I’ve also refined my shot over the years. This is my first stint in Europe, and I’m really excited about the team, which I’ve only heard good things about. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and want to help the team wherever they need me to win the next title.”
Krygier has already arrived in Salzburg. The defenseman will undergo the mandatory medical and conditioning tests today and will then immediately begin training with the team. Krygier will wear No. 6 for the Red Bulls.
