Interview Dennis Robertson
Starting Position
It couldn't be more exciting. Before the final round of the CHL regular season, the Red Bulls are in 15th place in the standings, with the top 16 teams (out of 24) qualifying for the playoff round of 16. A win against the Eisbären Berlin in regular time would give the Red Bulls a very good chance, although it would depend on other results. The Eisbären Berlin also have a slim chance of making the playoffs, currently in 21st place with four points and theoretically able to finish among the top 16 with seven points. Every point counts!
Differing Forms
A full game is needed against the German champions, even though the Berlin team has had a mediocre start to the season in the domestic league. Recently, however, they have shown a clear upward trend and, despite missing many injured players, have won their last four DEL matches, climbing to 5th place in the standings and gaining new confidence.
The Red Bulls have seen an almost opposite development. After four wins at the start of the season, Salzburg have only managed one win in their last four games. Last Sunday, they played well in Székesfehérvár, but suffered an unfortunate 2-3 defeat with three seconds left in the game. Against the Eisbären Berlin, they want to tighten up and play more as a team – they are still missing at least five injured players. The Red Bulls won the last of their four previous duels 1-0 in overtime in Salzburg during the preseason in August 2022.
The Red Bulls are definitely looking forward to an exciting duel against the German champions and, with the help of their own fans – standing room only is still available – they want to make another playoff appearance a reality.

Statement from Dennis Robertson
"We love playing against some of the best teams in Europe and are very excited. We expect a fast-paced game against the German champions. It's a deciding game, but we're preparing for it like any other game and trusting our routine. It's more about making fewer mistakes in the game and getting off to a really good start. And we're looking forward to our fans; that always gives us that extra energy."
