The Red Bulls are once again preparing for a difficult opponent, but want to return as quickly as possible to the strong performance with which they started the league.
Statement Mathias Böhm
Current situation
The Red Bulls are currently playing a packed schedule and will face Vienna tomorrow in their fourth game in eight days. However, that alone is not the reason for the three recent defeats that Salzburg has suffered in the CHL and ICE competitions. In fact, they are happy to be able to move straight on to the next game and not have to dwell too long on yesterday's 1-2 defeat against the Danish champions. In any case, the Red Bulls, who are third in the table, want to end their three-game losing streak and get back on track in the domestic championship in order to stay in touch with the top of the table.
The Vienna Capitals are in eighth place in the standings, but are only three points (!) behind the Red Bulls, who won the first matchup of the season 3-1 in Vienna two and a half weeks ago. Most recently, however, the capital city team handed Olimpija Ljubljana, the previous league leaders, their first defeat of the season with a 3-1 home win and only lost to the strong HC Falkensteiner Pustertal in overtime last Sunday (4-5). They are now looking for revenge against the reigning champions.
Salzburg's injury list could get shorter
Troy Bourke could return to strengthen the Red Bulls in their game against the Vienna Capitals. The 31-year-old forward has not played a single competitive game since the Red Bulls Salute in Zell am See in August and is now set to make his comeback. For Salzburg's latest signing Brandon Coe, on the other hand, it will be his first game in the ICE Hockey League after the 23-year-old forward made his debut for the Red Bulls in Odense. Ali Wukovits, Peter Hochkofler, Philipp Wimmer, Maximilian Wurzer, Vadim Schreiner, and Lukas Hörl are still recovering and will not be available.

Statement Mathias Böhm
"We've put the defeat in Odense behind us and are fully focused on the game against Vienna. We're expecting a heated game, as always against the Capitals. We deserved to win the first game in Vienna, but at the moment our scoring isn't where it should be. However, we know what the problem is and are working on it every day to get back on track quickly. For me, it's obviously a game with a special thrill, but I want to go into it like any other game."
