The Red Bulls will face the reigning Danish champions for the first time and are aiming for important points in the fight for a playoff spot in the premier league.
Current Situation
After four rounds of the CHL regular season, the Red Bulls are in 13th place with two wins and two losses. En route to this point, they defeated Polish champions GKS Tychy and the Pinguins Bremerhaven at home at the end of August. They returned from their trip to Finland in early September with Ives Tampere and KalPa Kuopio without any points. The Odense Bulldogs are in 22nd place after their opening win against Mountfield HK and three subsequent losses (against Kometa Brno, ZSC Lions, and KAC).
Both champions aim to return to winning ways in the CHL
The Odense Bulldogs, who secured the Danish championship title for the first time in their 47-year history last season with a 4-1 final series win against the Herning Blue Fox, thus also making their CHL debut, currently hold 4th place (out of 9 teams) in the regular season of the Danish Metal Ligaen after nine rounds. In the final round last Friday, they lost 1-3 at home to the Herning Blue Fox in the first rematch of the final.
The Red Bulls hold third place in the win2day ICE Hockey League after eight rounds, but recently suffered two losses against the new league leaders, Bozen (1-4 at home), and a 2-3 loss in overtime on Sunday in Linz. The reigning ICE champions have been without at least seven injured players since the start of the season, with several young players from the Red Bull Hockey Juniors stepping in. New signing Brandon Coe could at least strengthen the attack for the match in Odense, provided all registration formalities have been completed by then. Whether Troy Bourke will also be back remains to be seen.

Internationally Experienced Coach
The team is led by head coach Jason O'Leary. The 47-year-old Canadian took over the Danish champions this season and has previously worked as a head coach in the top leagues in Slovakia, France, Switzerland, and Germany. His team is two-thirds local, reinforced by five Swedes and one professional each from Latvia, Finland, the Czech Republic, and the USA.
Ice Hockey on the Island
The Spar Nord Arena, also known as Odense Isstadion, is the home stadium of the Odense Bulldogs and is located in the west of the city of 185,000 inhabitants (200 km north of Hamburg as the crow flies on Funen, Denmark's third-largest island). The arena opened in 1999 and has a total capacity of 3,280 spectators.

Manny Viveiro's statement
"We're in good form and creating a lot of good chances. We want to continue like this, and of course, we have to finish those chances. Coupled with a solid defense, we'll have our rhythm. If we can do that, we have a good chance of winning in Odense, even if we face a strong Danish team. No matter where they currently stand in the table. The game against Linz showed that there are no easy games. All teams have quality, and we need a complete game if we want to win in Odense."
