Bulldogs on course for EuropeSwiss champions face Red Bulls twice this year// CHLThe Odense Bulldogs play on Champions Hockey League ice for the first time! Denmark's champions want to attack internationally and continue making history. The Odense Bulldogs are making history: by winning their first Danish championship in the 2024/25 season, they qualified for the Champions Hockey League for the first time. The club was founded in 1978 and plays in the Metal Ligaen, the highest Danish ice hockey league.

From underdog story to champion club
The Odense Bulldogs were founded in 1978 and have been an integral part of Danish ice hockey ever since. As the only top club on the island of Funen, they have made a name for themselves over the years. In 1991, they were promoted to the highest Danish league, today's Metal Ligaen. In the years that followed, the Bulldogs established themselves as a serious contender and reached the final of the Danish championship several times, including in 2002, 2003 and 2012. Although they failed to hit the big time at first, they proved their class with four wins in the Danish Cup (2003, 2006, 2009, 2016). The long-awaited highlight followed in the 2024/25 season: the Bulldogs secured their first national championship title with a 4:1 victory over the Herning Blue Fox in the final, crowning decades of hard work and continuous development.
The team is led by head coach Jason O'Leary. Key players include Kristian Jensen, Markus Jensen and Sebastian Maddock Rasmussen. The team is characterized by a mix of experienced players and young talent. By participating in the CHL for the first time, the Odense Bulldogs want to continue their success story and prove themselves on the international stage.

Head Coach Manny Viveiros
"Denmark is a country that always represents themselves at the World Championship as a team that can beat any country in the world. They always produce excellent players on the international stage. Another team we need to bring our best to get points in the champions league."

At home in Odense
The Spar Nord Arena, also known as Odense Isstadion, is the home ground of the Odense Bulldogs and is located in the Bolbro district of Odense, Denmark. The arena was opened in 1999 and seats a total of 3,280 spectators, 1,024 of whom are seated. In addition to ice hockey matches, other ice sports such as figure skating and curling also take place here. The Spar Nord Arena has changed sponsors several times over the years and was previously known under names such as Albani Arena, Bryggeriet Vestfyen Arena and VinMedKant Arena. Despite its comparatively small capacity, it is one of the most important ice hockey arenas in Denmark and provides the Bulldogs with an atmospheric home venue.
