Much to the delight of the Salzburg fans, who created a fantastic atmosphere in the sold-out Salzburg Ice Arena and duly celebrated their team. The memorable evening before the first home game of the season began with the raising of last season's championship banner, which now hangs under the roof of the arena and marks the Red Bulls' tenth title in the win2day ICE Hockey League. This makes the Red Bulls the league's record champions (since 2000) and the only club to have won the title four times in a row.

Villach visits Salzburg next Friday
After a strong league start, the Red Bulls are now looking forward to their next opponent from Carinthia. EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV will visit the Salzburg Ice Arena on Friday, September 19th (7:15 p.m., Sporteurope.tv). Villach began the season with a 4-2 away win against league newcomer FTC Budapest, but then suffered a 7-2 defeat in Ljubljana. Last season, VSV won the regular season matchup with the Red Bulls 3-1.
