Red Bulls sign Devante StephensCanadian AHL-experienced defenseman moves to Salzburg// Team updateEC Red Bull Salzburg is strengthening its defense with Canadian defenseman Devante Stephens.The 28-year-old comes to the city of Mozart from the AHL team Colorado Eagles and will play in the win2day ICE Hockey League for the first time in the coming season.
The 191 cm tall left winger played 56 games for the Colorado Eagles last season, recording 12 scoring points (3 goals | 9 assists). In total, Stephens can look back on an eight-year AHL career with 304 games and 74 scoring points - including for the Rochester Americans, Syracuse Crunch, Abbotsford Canucks, Tucson Roadrunners and Colorado Eagles.

Stephens was born on January 2, 1997 in White Rock (British Columbia, Canada) and was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the 5th round at position 122 in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He spent his junior years with the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL. In his first season with the Rockets in 2014-15, he won the Ed Chynoweth Cup - one of the most important trophies in Canadian junior field hockey - and qualified for the prestigious Memorial Cup.
