“Red Bulls & Friends” running team once again sets donation record for Wings for Life World Run in the Volksgarten increasingly popular// Wings for Life World RunBest running weather, a great atmosphere among all participants and the “Red Bulls & Friends” running team once again with the best donation result of all running teams worldwide. The App Run in Salzburg's Volksgarten was once again a complete success. For several years now, the Red Bulls have been organizing a Wings for Life App Run after the ice hockey season in Salzburg's Volksgarten, right in the 'front garden' of their ice arena. In doing so, they actively support the foundation for spinal cord research and encourage both running enthusiasts and ice hockey fans to take part in the World Run and donate to Wings for Life.

“Red Bulls & Friends” remains No. 1 in donations
Last year, the “Red Bulls & Friends” running team, founded by the Red Bulls, was able to transfer the highest amount of donations to the foundation. This year's result was even better: The 779 running team participants raised a total of EUR 87,750.63, making them once again the running team with the highest donation amount for Wings for Life worldwide. Generated from the registrations of all participants as well as other donations that the Red Bulls collect throughout the season - for example from Business Club partners or the sale of the one-off Wings for Life jerseys.

Among the participants in the sold-out App Run in the Volksgarten were once again some active and former prominent athletes. You could run side by side with Matthias Walkner (motocross rider, Dakar Rally winner among others, competing in a wheelchair after his serious injury last year), Stefan Holzner (five-time Ironman winner), Thomas Geierspichler (Austrian racing wheelchair rider, multiple world champion and Olympic champion), Christin Fiedler (Muaythai trainer, three-time World Cup winner and nine-time Austrian champion) and Wolfgang Mair (former Salzburg footballer and artist, has once again donated the jerseys of the Wings for Life team). The ice hockey champions also did their laps
Peter Hochkofler and Lukas Hörl as well as Oliver David, Head Coach of EC Red Bull Salzburg, also ran in the Volksgarten and cut a fine figure even without ice. However, Peter Hochkofler dropped out after two laps (11km) because he was still recovering from an injury sustained last season. Lukas Hörl, who recently signed a contract for the next ICE Hockey League season in Salzburg, managed 23 km.
Oliver David managed an impressive 17.10 km and was happy with the whole event: “In one race, that was the longest distance I've ever run. I didn't know what to expect and was surprised to see so many people along the course, which was extremely motivating. The atmosphere is unique, also because you get a lot of information about Wings for Life via the app beforehand.”
