17 November vs. HCB Südtirol Alperia | Tickets It's a return to old haunts. Scott Kosmachuk played for EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV from 2020 to 2022 and also met the Red Bulls. In Villach's second season, the forward was the third-highest scorer in the entire league after John Hughes and Peter Schneider with 33 goals and 30 assists in 58 games.
Scott Kosmachuk: “I was looking for a league outside of Austria. But now the opportunity has come up to play in the prestigious Red Bulls organization and luckily I fit the team's needs. I am a fast forward and love to create offense. My biggest strengths are my skating and my shot.”
Kosmachuk knows Ryan Murphy, among others, from earlier days and played with Thomas Raffl in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose in the 2015-16 season. In the same season, the Canadian also played eight NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets. In the last two years, Kosmachuk proved his skills in the Finnish top league Liiga with TPS (29 games, 9 goals, 8 assists) and in the KHL with Lada Togliatti (46 games, 10 goals, 17 assists).
Head Coach Oliver David: “We are grateful for the opportunity to add Scott to our team. With his tremendous experience, passion for the game, work ethic and skill set, it will be exciting to see what's to come.”
Kosmachuk last trained in Toronto and is looking forward to his comeback in the win2day ICE Hockey League. His goals with the Red Bulls: “I really enjoy playing in this league, especially in the Red Bulls organization. Knowing the history that has already been built there, I hope I can help the team bring another championship to Salzburg.”
Kosmachuk is expected to arrive in Salzburg later this week.
