When the Red Bulls meet EV Zug on Friday, it will once again be a showdown between two of the top teams in their respective leagues. The two teams also met at the same venue last year in the pre-season, with the Swiss winning 4:1. The Red Bulls go into the test phase as champions of the win2day ICE Hockey League, while Zug reached the semi-finals of the strong Swiss National League last season.

"When you start training again, you initially feel like you can't do anything properly. But we and the coaches are very familiar with each other and have got off to a good start. The game against Zug after four days of training won't be perfect yet, but we're looking forward to it and want to get to grips with each other. But of course we also want to win and enjoy playing again."
Thomas Raffl is not yet involved, as he is completing a special preparation program and will not play until later. Lucas Thaler's participation is also uncertain, as the striker was still ill recently.
