ÖSV Speed Group with the champion on the ice rink When ice hockey pros meet skiers // Summer training... then fun is guaranteed. Austria's best skiers played a final match with some Red Bulls as part of their training camp at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy and showed an amazing amount of talent on skates. For several years now, the ÖSV skiers have been taking part in a training camp lasting several days at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy with various groups and preparing for the new winter season with ice hockey training, among other things. The highlight is the final game on the last day of training, where some of the Red Bulls' professionals also like to mingle with the skiers.
Led by double world champion and 18-time World Cup winner Vincent Kriechmayr, the two teams engaged in a lively exchange of blows, in which the Upper Austrian secured a narrow 3:2 victory with his goal in the final penalty shoot-out. Stefan Rieser from Dorfgastein, who completed his first World Cup downhill in 2023, had “a lot of fun.That's also the main focus. For the ice hockey players, the serious side of life begins a little earlier than for the skiers. Lucas Thaler: “It was a lot of fun. It's nice when sports come together and you can learn from each other. But we already have performance tests next week and then team training with all the players will start soon.”
Training kicks off on August 5 and just four days later, on August 9, the first pre-season test against EV Zug | Find tickets here | will take place in Zell am See. This will be followed by the first highlight, the Red Bulls Salute, on August 16-17, also in the KE KELIT Arena in Zell am See.
