"It's always a great honor to play for Austria" Paul Huber is looking forward to training camp with the Austrian national team// National teamIn the current IIHF break, Austria's team manager Roger Bader has called up his red-white-red squad for the Germany Cup in Landshut and is preparing the team for the 2024 World Championship in the long term. But there is still some time - the World Cup in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic, will take place from May 10-26, 2024 - and so the upcoming tournament in Germany will also be used to give younger Austrians a chance to prove themselves in international matches against other strong nations. Roger Bader has called up a total of 27 men, including Red Bulls Philipp Wimmer, Paul and Mario Huber, Paul Stapelfeldt and Tim Harnisch. Some other Salzburg players had to cancel their participation due to illness.
National team appearances are always something very special for Paul Huber. The 23-year-old forward, who made the leap from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy to the Salzburg pros in the 2019/20 season, made his debut in the Austrian national team a year later. He now has two world championships with seven games each under his belt and knows his way around this international arena quite well.

"There are some really strong nations at the Germany Cup, it will be a good tournament with top-class matches. The games against Germany are always something special, that's what I'm looking forward to the most. You also get to meet one or two of your old friends from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy. And I can definitely learn a lot again and develop further."
