Juniors
"If Austria wants to turn things around, it must invest the most in the youngest and drastically increase the number of ice hockey beginners and junior players!"
This sentence comes from club icon Matthias Trattnig, who has addressed this issue not only after his career ended in 2019. A big step in this direction is the Ice Hockey 1x1, which is mainly aimed at children who have not yet come into contact with the sport of ice hockey. As a result of this initiative, the Red Bulls have entered into further partnerships with regional ice hockey clubs, which are intended to strengthen children's ties to the sport of ice hockey.
Strengthening regional clubs with partnerships
In order to increase the ice hockey base in the Salzburg region, the Red Bulls are passing on their knowledge to the smaller clubs in the region, involving all departments in this project, from the pros to the academy to the youth. Helmut de Raaf, Director of Development Academy: "The more kids start playing sports, the better the individual development opportunities. We have talked to clubs in the Salzburg area and noted where support can be given and would like to help them reach more children. This offers the clubs new opportunities in training and playing and strengthens the cooperation of the entire region."

Lokomotive Bischofshofen The club was launched in the summer of 2018 as the ice hockey section of the Eisenbahnersportverein Bischofshofen (ESV). With a strong team, we train at the ice rink in Bischofshofen and focus on youth development. The goal is to promote the team structure of the youngsters and to train their coordination skills. If you want to try the sport, you don't have to bring much with you. There are no physical requirements. Important are, ice skates and a helmet. A ski helmet is also sufficient for the first test.
The social aspect is our main focus, the sporting only in second place. The ESV offers ideal conditions for club life. Under the guidance of three trainers, we take to the ice every Wednesday and Friday from November to March. We want to introduce newcomers to the sport as professionally as possible. The municipality has put something strong on its feet with the ESV - the rink in Bischofshofen is too small for professional ice hockey operations, but it is ideally suited for newcomers to the hobby. Everyone is welcome! > Website
EV Berchtesgaden EV Berchtesgaden was founded in 1922 and is one of the oldest ice sports clubs in Germany. Even back then, there were ice hockey teams in various age groups and the figure skating department. Promoting young talent is a top priority at the EVB. The club does a lot to introduce children to the fastest team sport. Newcomers are always welcome, just drop by and join in. Joy, fun in motion, body control and team spirit are the top priorities in the training provided by our team of coaches. In total, the hockey club takes care of about 50 children in the age groups U7 to U15.
Talentschmiede Berchtesgaden also has former junior players in its ranks who have gone on to become professional athletes. Current examples are Benedikt Kohl (Straubing Tigers, DEL) Manuel Edfelder (Starbulls Rosenheim, Oberliga) and Sebastian Zauner (EC VSV, ICE Hockey League), who have their roots in EV Berchtesgaden. > Website
EHC Voralpenkings Vöcklabruck In the district of Vöcklabruck, the infrastructure to play ice hockey was created by the construction of the REVA ice rink in 1999. It was only through this that a group of committed hobby players, who until then had to resort to the artificial ice rink in Gmunden, were able to cast their joy in this sport into a permanent form. Thus, in the summer of 2003, the 1st EHC Voralpenkings Vöcklabruck was born.
The youth is in the center of attention with us and with us nobody is thrown into the cold water. In training, the children and young people are divided into two groups, beginners and advanced, and are always supervised and supported by at least two coaches. The older ones also have the opportunity to go on the ice and train with the 2nd or 3rd fighting team. Outside the training times there is of course the possibility to skate in the REVA hall to improve. Today we are proud of 120 members, divided into five teams in different performance classes, age groups and goals. Proud to be a King! > Website
Moonlakers Mondsee In April 2006, a few sports enthusiasts from Mondsee got together to bring the "Mondsee Ice Rink" project to life. The operating group "WhiteBeers-Moonlakers" as a branch club of the UNION Raiffeisen Mondsee was soon founded and did a lot of convincing work to put the club on a healthy footing. After a structural and technical adaptation of the existing stick sports hall, the "Eissporthalle-Mondsee" was also opened for the public skating day in 2008. V.a. the schools of the Mondseelandes and the surrounding municipalities in the gymnastic instruction as well as many hobby ice hockey players provide since then for a good extent of utilization "ice sports hall Mondsee".
For the little ones we offer every Saturday morning ice skating courses under the guidance of certified coaches. Some founding members of the "WhiteBeers-Moonlakers" have continued their education at various field hockey courses and since 2009 offer "Hockeytime" for youngsters in the afternoons. Depending on age and ability, the youngsters improve their skating skills and stick technique. With David Cernik, a native of Mondsee is also in the Red Bull Hockey Juniors squad and is trying to realize his dream of playing professional field hockey. In addition to the academy striker, other children train with the Red Bulls' junior team, who started playing the sport in Mondsee thanks to the regional commitment of the Moonlakers. > Facebook
