EC Red Bull Salzburg | Nick Poisson
The 24-year-old Canadian most recently played for the Abbotsford Canucks in the AHL and the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL, and is making his first move to Europe.
Vancouver-born Nick Poisson played two seasons for the Prince George Spruce Kings in the BCHL (British Columbia Hockey League). In 107 regular-season games, the left-handed shooter scored 35 goals and assisted on 42 others. In 2019, he won the BCHL championship and the Doyle Cup with the Spruce Kings. Poisson also represented Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge.
The forward then played for Providence College in the NCAA for five years, from 2020 to 2025. In 170 games, he recorded 109 points, including 42 goals and 67 assists. With that, Poisson played the second-most games in the history of the hockey program. During his final two college seasons, he took on increasing leadership responsibilities: first as an assistant captain and then as captain of Providence College. While in college, the Canadian also participated in development camps for the Vegas Golden Knights, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Florida Panthers.
Last season, the 180-centimeter-tall, 86-kilogram forward played his first professional season. Playing for the Abbotsford Canucks, Poisson recorded five goals and six assists in 43 AHL games. In nine additional appearances for the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL, he scored two goals and had one assist. The Red Bulls are his first stop in Europe.

I’m a two-way forward with a lot of energy who can make my teammates better. Offensively, I like to play with speed on the rush and look to finish as soon as the opportunity arises.”

Poisson will wear jersey number 24 for the Red Bulls.
