Red Bulls ready for Ilves TampereFlorian Baltram: "We have to play our best game"// CHL Regular SeasonTomorrow, Thursday, the Red Bulls will play the first of two CHL away games in Finland in Tampere. After a smooth journey, the Salzburg team also completed a training session at the Hakametsä Arena this afternoon.The former home of the two Tampere-based clubs Ilves and Tappara enjoys legendary status in Finland. Ilves alone celebrated several of its 16 Finnish championship titles here. Since 2021, both clubs have played their games at the modern Nokia Arena, which is also hosting games of the ongoing European Basketball Championship this weekend. This means the Red Bulls will once again be honored at the Hakametsä (after 2017).

The last CHL matchup with Ilves was only three years ago. In the first leg (back then still in the group stage), Salzburg lost 2-3 at home in overtime, only to take revenge a week later in Tampere with a 2-1 penalty shootout victory. The Red Bulls are preparing for another tough fight this time.
