Big Wings for Life matchday for the Red Bulls Salzburg eager for first win of the season against Vienna// win2day ICE Hockey League In the last home game of the win2day ICE Hockey League basic round, EC Red Bull Salzburg will face the spusu Vienna Capitals tomorrow, Wednesday (7:15 p.m., livestream).The Red Bulls are aiming for their first win of the season against the Vienna Capitals and are determined to score fully to keep their chances of finishing second in the table alive.
The game against the Vienna Capitals is also Salzburg's Wings for Life match day. The team will play with specially designed jerseys, which will go on sale afterwards. 100% of the proceeds will go to Wings for Life, the foundation for spinal cord research.
A game under the banner of Wings for Life
Once a year, the Red Bulls play a basic round match under the banner of Wings for Life and want to raise public awareness of the foundation for spinal cord research. To this end, they wear specially designed and manufactured jerseys by the artist Kowalski, which are only worn on this match day - Wednesday against Vienna - and then sold for the good cause.

Interview with Wolfgang Illek
We spoke to Wolfgang Illek, Head of Fundraising at Wings for Life, ahead of the Red Bulls' Wings for Life match day. Wolfgang Illek is in a wheelchair himself and told us in the interview what it's like to live with it every day and about the progress made in research.
How do I get a Wings for Life jersey?
Each item costs EUR 250, 100% of the proceeds go to Wings for Life. After the end of the match, interested parties can send an e-mail with up to three jerseys of their choice to wingsforlife@redbulls.com. The jerseys will be awarded in the order in which the e-mails are received. Fans who are awarded a jersey will be informed by e-mail and will also receive the payment details.
The starting position before the game
Two rounds before the end of the basic round, the Red Bulls are in second place in the table, two points behind second-placed Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The Red Bulls are determined to score fully in their remaining two games so that, with a bit of luck, i.e. help from other clubs, they can catch or overtake the Hungarians and secure the second CHL starting place in next season's ICE Hockey League. And the Red Bulls are eager for their first win of the season against the Viennese, who have snatched victory from their grasp in all three games so far.
For the Vienna Capitals, there is nothing left to play for in a sporting sense, as they no longer have a chance of securing a pre-playoff place. Nevertheless, they will do everything in Salzburg to win their fourth game of the season against the Red Bulls. Defenseman Dominique Heinrich, who moved from Salzburg to Vienna last summer and is now returning to his old stomping grounds for the first time with the Capitals, is likely to be particularly motivated going into the game.

"We still have two games to prepare for the playoffs, but for now we're only focusing on the game against Vienna. We're expecting a tough game, as always against Vienna. They have a good team, play good field hockey and are dangerous offensively. And they've never given us many chances. We definitely want to come out of the locker room hard and play our game for 60 minutes."
