Matthias Trattnig has written ice hockey history. Both in Salzburg and with the Austrian national team. The Austrian ice hockey scene was inextricably linked with his name for many years and in Salzburg, too, he was ultimately the defining face, the character player who was able to inspire the team with his charisma and athletic play.

In total, 'Tratte' has played 1,424 (!) games as a professional in the various leagues and competitions at international level. The former model athlete scored goals for the Red Bulls from 2005 until the end of his career in 2019.
