Ryan Murphy is chasing his first championship title"My greatest strength is my ice skating"// PortraitRyan Murphy is one of two newcomers to the Red Bulls last summer and brings a lot of experience from the NHL and KHL to Salzburg.A look at his statistics speaks for itself: After 176 NHL games and 121 games in the Russian-international KHL, Ryan Murphy is now continuing his career in Salzburg with the Red Bulls and attracted a lot of attention in the first CHL and ICE Hockey League games with his shooting technique and overview. In the CHL away game against the Adler Mannheim he then also put the puck in the nets and secured the first scorer point for the Red Bulls.
We spoke to Ryan shortly before the start of the win2day ICE Hockey League:
The 30-year-old Canadian has long settled in Salzburg: "The cohesion in the locker room is really good and that's probably why we've won the championship title for the last two years. It's very important that you also get along well with your colleagues off the ice and I see that every day."
What he still lacks is a title. Murphy: "I always want to win and my greatest strength is skating. I work on that every summer. I'm 30 years old and I don't think I've gotten slower over the years!"
