Highlights Red Bulls vs. HCB Südtirol Alperia
Course of the match
A storming start from both teams and an early goal from the visitors was how the third semi-final game began. Pascal Brunner got to a rebound directly in front of Atte Tolvanen and netted (3rd). The game continued at high speed, Salzburg's Nicolai Meyer had a good chance with a hard shot from the slot over the goal (7.). But the visitors scored a second time soon after, this time with a shot from distance by Joshua Teves (9'). The Red Bulls then stepped up their attacking game, playing mostly in the attacking zone and looking for scoring chances. However, the South Tyroleans scored again from one of the now few attacks, this time with a deflected shot from Brad McClure (14'). Salzburg continued to press, even hitting the bar in the powerplay (19th), but had to go into the dressing room with a three-goal deficit after the first period.
The visitors continued to play offensively at the start of the second period and stopped the Red Bulls' attacking efforts for a long time. They worked their way back into the game inch by inch and finally got their first goal in the 27th minute. Benjamin Nissner smashed the disc into the net behind Bolzano goalie Sam Harvey from the half-high slot. The Red Bulls had now really got going and went one better. In the powerplay, Mario Huber scored from the right face-off circle to make it 2:3 (29') and three minutes later Troy Bourke equalized in front of the goal in heavy traffic (32'). And that was not all. Drake Rymsha converted his own rebound from a counter-attack to put the Red Bulls ahead for the first time (34'). After another short-handed game, the home side had another great chance before the break and played the Bolzano defense dizzy. After 40 minutes it was 4:3, the Red Bulls had turned the game around with four goals (!).
The game remained open. Bolzano now stepped up their attacking game and were extremely dangerous in front of Salzburg's goal time and time again, including one overtime game (from 46 minutes), where Atte Tolvanen thwarted several top chances. From about halfway through the third period, the Red Bulls opened up the game and created chances, the game continued to go up and down with opportunities on both sides. The Italians attacked uncompromisingly, the Red Bulls now defended superbly and did not allow anything more, even occasionally scoring some good goals. In the end, Atte Tolvanen held on to the victory even against six Bolzano players. The Red Bulls thus celebrated an incredible comeback victory and are now 2:1 ahead in the series.

Statement by Benjamin Nissner
"The start was not of course as we had hoped, we had to swallow that first. A lot of the right things were said during the break and we put them into practice afterwards. We weren't hard enough on the glass at first and should have played more straightforward. We then did that better, created scoring chances and ultimately won."
