The Red Bulls played very compactly and took some of the wind out of the South Tyroleans' sails with the necessary aggression. The crucial point was the second period, at the end of which Dennis Robertson equalized Salzburg's lead and Thomas Raffl regained the lead shortly afterwards. Paul Huber finally fixed the 3:1 final score in Bolzano in the final third. The third game continues on Sunday in Salzburg (18:30).

Game recap
The game started similarly to the first semi-final game three days ago in Salzburg. The Red Bulls showed aggressive forechecking and thus had a lot of time in the offensive zone. Bolzano goalkeeper Sam Harvey had to save a few good Salzburg shots right from the start, such as the one from Drake Rymsha from the half-high slot (5th). The home side then became more active and had their first dangerous shots on Salzburg's goal. The Red Bulls continued to dominate the game, but Bolzano's attacks also became more powerful. This culminated in the first Bolzano powerplay (from the 12th minute), in which Atte Tolvanen cleared two or three highly dangerous situations. In the final minutes, which were full of fighting, it went back and forth. The Red Bulls often had good chances in front of goal - Florian Baltram perhaps had the best chance so far from close range in the final minute - but the finish was still lacking. The teams went into the first break goalless.
Shortly after the restart, Atte Tolvanen parried a hard shot with his shoulder and Paul Huber plucked it down. Thomas Raffl then shot freely from the slot (22'). The game continued in the same vein, going up and down, with fierce duels increasingly dominating the game. Neither team had many good finishing opportunities, but had to be constantly on their guard against deflected shots. Until the 33rd minute with Salzburg's 2-on-1 attack, Dennis Robertson converted Benjamin Nissner's cross pass to give Bolzano the lead and Sam Harvey was beaten for the first time in the semi-final. The Red Bulls then really turned up the heat and had further opportunities from half-distance with Lucas Thaler and Paul Huber. But the home side equalized with a lucky shot. In the power play, the disc came back over the goal from the boards and Domenico Alberga got his stick to it (39'). It took just 14 seconds for the Red Bulls to reply: Thomas Raffl scored from the slot with feeling and vision to give them the lead again, which they held until the second break.
The game continued with an open goal in the final third. Bolzano started with a dangerous power play and then pushed forward more. This opened up space for the Red Bulls to counter-attack, with Paul Huber taking a free shot from half-distance in the 48th minute. Only to score shortly afterwards. After strong preparatory work by Mario Huber, Paul Huber took off from the left face-off circle and scored with a hammer to make it 3:1. Things remained heated on the ice, with Bolzano continuing to produce explosive scenes in front of Salzburg's goal, such as during the power play (from the 56th minute) and the final empty-net period. However, Atte Tolvanen and his front men held their nerve and finally secured their first semi-final win in Bolzano after a compact performance, leaving the series tied 1-1.

Statement Paul Huber
"It was difficult as always in Bolzano, but we executed our game plan well today. With a good forecheck, taking away the goalie's vision and getting a lot of shots on goal. We were even more determined today than last time in Salzburg, and that's what got us the win."
